Murder Was the Case: L.A. Homicide No. 157, Man Beaten With Bottle in Highland Park
An unidentified Hispanic male was beaten to death with a bottle in the afternoon of July 13 in Highland Park.

An animal regulations officer witnessed the fatal attack and saw the culprit bash a glass bottle over the victim's head. The assailant, described as a Hispanic male in his 40s or 50s, was seen leaving the scene in a pickup truck. The 1:30 p.m. attack, which occurred on the corner of Lacy Street and Avenue 26, doesn't appear to be gang-related. The victim died of his injuries at a nearby hospital.
