Mummified Body Found In East Los Angeles Could Be Remains Of A Man Who Went Missing 5 Years Ago
Construction workers remodeling a back house this week found mummified remains of a body under the East Los Angeles residence, according to the Associated Press. Los Angeles County officials say that the remains could be of the owner of the house who was reportedly missing in 2005.
The house has been vacant for five years.
The body was found stuffed tightly into a crawl space. Firefighters had to cut away floorboards in order to remove the body.
Though the cornoner's office has not officially identified the body, county coroner's Capt. John Kades says that family and friends reported that the missing man used to hang out in enclosed spaces such a closets.
A pillow was found with the remains, leading investigators to believe that no foul play was involved.
