Sheriff's homicide investigators were called to the 3100 block of Vineland Avenue in Baldwin Park about 9:52 a.m. Sunday to assist local police, who had been called to the location at 8 a.m. based on a death report. Sheriff's detectives found the man had been "severely malnourished," according to a department statement.
"Detectives have learned the victim had several medical issues and was living at the location with his family as a dependent adult," Deputy Lillian Peck stated. "At this time, no evidence of foul play has been detected."
A coroner's official Monday identified the deceased as Ricky Escobedo, 21.
