Linette Young Convicted, Made 400+ False 911 Calls in L.A.
A woman who called 911 more than 400 times since 2011 was sentenced to six months behind bars, the L.A. City Attorney's office announced today.
Linette Young, 43, requested paramedic service via 911 sometimes six times a day, and did so 220 times between Jan. 1 and Sept. 13 of this year alone, prosecutors say.
For all that ...
... Young will also face mandatory psych counseling and a restitution hearing in February. She was ordered to stay away from the LAFD and refrain from dialing 911 unless she faces a true emergency.
The defendant was convicted after a one-week jury trial, the City Attorney's office said. Jurors found her guilty of 12 counts of annoying or harassing calls and 13 counts of making false emergency reports.
According to a City Attorney's statement:
Other times, Young would go to Fire Station 66 on West Slauson Avenue seeking medical assistance. On each occasion, Young was treated and found to have no medical issues and would refuse any transportation to hospitals.
Sounds to us like she's sick.
