Lindsay Lohan Loses Role As Porn Star Linda Lovelace; News Hard To Swallow

You know you're, er, going down as an actor when you're not even suitable to play a porn star. That's the latest rap for Lindsay Lohan, who was set to make a comeback of sorts as Linda Lovelace in Inferno.

Reports state that the movie's producers couldn't get insurance on the perpetually troubled actress and had to move on as shooting dates loomed.

Whether or not the filmmakers dropped her or she dropped them in order to stick with rehab is up for debate. She was replaced by Malin Akerman.

Lohan is supposed to stay in rehab -- and away from alcohol and little white lines, apparently -- through early January.

Inferno's producer, Chris Hanley, told People:

"Lindsay had scheduling issues due to legal obligations and is continuing to focus on getting better in rehabilitation in Palm Springs, and she really had to focus on that in our opinion - and hers."

The late Lovelace, the star of pioneering porn film Deep Throat, reportedly had substance-abuse problems of her own before she became an anti-porn activist.

It was a role Lohan should have been able to devour whole.
