L.A. Weekly Newsmakers: Columnist Mark Groubert on Dr. Drew Live, Jonathan Gold vs. Heal the Bay in L.A. Times
Last night L.A. Weekly's Mark Groubert stopped by Dr. Drew Pinsky's nationally syndicated radio show, Dr. Drew Live, to chat about his articles on Congresswoman Diane E. Watson and Proposition 5, plus his upcoming book on addiction in America. Earlier this year, Groubert was also on Pinsky's show to discuss his June 27 cover story "Rehab City."
Pinsky, who is also the co-host of KROQ's Loveline and the addiction specialist behind Celebrity Rehab, was excited to have Mark Groubert back on his program. Listen to the lively discussion from October 31 here.
Our next newsmaker is L.A. Weekly's Jonathan Gold, who graces the pages of today's L.A. Times in the article "When it Comes to Eating, Two Gold Standards," about the war of words between our Pulitzer Prize winning food critic and his brother, Mark Gold (who just happens to be the president of Heal the Bay), over Jonathan's October 16 column, "Koreatown 1.0: A Food Diary," in which he detailed eating whale meat. The L.A. Times calls the brotherly food feud, "A Cain-and-Abel comedy for the environmentally minded Westside set" so do yourself a favor today while you're nursing that Halloween hangover and read the article here.
Also, on October 10, if you missed L.A. Weekly's Joe Donnelly battle a couple of conservatives during a political roundtable on Indie 103.1 FM's Jonesy's Jukebox Jury, you can listen to the full podcast here.
