Kobe Gets Mocked as Overpaid in Frozen Parody, "Let It Tank"
Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest basketball players in the history of the sport. He recently surpassed Michael Jordan's third-place standing on the list of the NBA's all-time leading scorers. And it wasn't too long ago that number 24 could be counted on for impossible, last-minute baskets.
But an injury-plagued, 12-27 season for a team we're all used to seeing cause post-season riots has made Bryant a target of the sport's most acerbic critics.
His lackluster performance paired with a cap-crushing $48.5-million, two-year contract (which ends next season) haven't helped at all, despite his past accomplishments, which include five NBA championships.
This week the folks at sports site Bleacher Report mocked the 36-year-old's late-career predicament with a video, "Let it Tank," based on the music and lyrics of Disney's "Let it Go," from the animated hit Frozen:
Don’t let them in, don’t let them see/Be the Mamba you always have to be ... I don’t care If I’m overpaid/Let the Spurs rage on/Getting old never bothered them anyway!

Is tanking a reference to the theory that if the Lakers do poorly enough they'll get a top draft pick? This doesn't appear to be an element of the song, but maybe.
The team is 10 games off a possible playoff run.
If Bryant wants to prove these jesters wrong, now is the time. The Lakers face the Cavaliers tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Staples Center.
