Kobe Bryant, the centerpiece of the Lakers, announced that he'll return to the court Sunday for the team's home game at Staples Center against Toronto.
The star who last month signed a two-year, $48 million contract extension with the team, missed the first part of the season to recover from surgery for a torn torn Achilles tendon from a game last season:
Bryant announced his return via a cryptic video on his Facebook page that presented his Lakers jersey and said, simply, "December 8."
The team tweeted it: "Kobe announced his return exclusively on Facebook."

The 35-year-old baller said he'll serve out his last days in pro basketball as a Laker. The injury was serious enough for some to question whether he'll ever be the same. It has been a career-ender for others.
