Pedestrian Keymontae Mackenzie was killed in an early-morning collision over the weekend on Santa Monica Boulevard east of Highland Avenue, the LAPD said in a statement.

L.A. Fire Department paramedics rushed to the scene, but ...

... they couldn't revive her, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

It happened about 3 a.m. Friday, the LAPD stated:

... A motorist traveling eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard just east of Highland Avenue, collided with the pedestrian who was apparently stepping off the curb/sidewalk when he was struck. Detectives this week were looking for an older model, light-colored Ford Thunderbird and its driver. The car probably has front-end damage.

If you have seen such a car or know who the driver might be, call LAPD West Traffic Division investigators: (213) 473-0234.
