Juan Antonio Fuentes, L.A. Homicide No. 181: 16-year-old Boy Killed in Gang-Related Shooting in Westlake
A 16-year-old boy who was killed in an apparent gang-related shooting in the Westlake area August 25 has beeen identified as Juan Antonio Fuentes. The fatal attack occurred in the 11:30 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of West Temple Street and North Union Avenue. According to police reports, Fuentes and the shooter were involved in a verbal dispute on the street when the shooter pulled out a .45-caliber handgun and shot him. The gunman is described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 19 and 24.
He was wearing a dark shirt and shorts. Police believe the shooter is a member of the Big Top Locos. Anyone with information should contact LAPD Rampart Division detectives at (213) 484-3400.
