Jon Stewart's 'Rally To Restore Sanity' Heads To L.A.'s MacArthur Park
Jon Stewart's "Rally To Restore Sanity" is back on schedule at a location not far from the Pershing Square site originally chosen by organizers: MacArthur Park in the Westlake District near downtown
The 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. event will happen Oct. 30 at Levitt Pavilion, according to the event's Facebook page.
Organizers had said their plans to hold a rally at downtown's Pershing Square park on the same date were rejected by L.A. City Hall. As we reported, city parks officials said they didn't reject Stewart's permit; rather, they said, that venue was ocupado. In fact ...
... Parks and rec spokeswoman Andrea Epstein told the Weekly that the department would be glad to find another locale for the cable-TV showman's gathering.
