Joe Bodolai: SNL, 'Wayne's World' Writer Found Dead in Hollywood Hotel; Suicide Likely
Ah, the sad life of the writer. And just think, this guy was successful: What does that say about the rest of us?
Joe Bodolai, an onetime member of Saturday Night Live's famed writers' table and the reported author of the first draft of the hit movie Wayne's World was found dead in Hollywood Monday afternoon after tweeting "Goodbye" on Christmas Eve.
The writer was 63. Coroner's Lt. Larry Dietz tells the Weekly ...
... that Bodolai's body was found in a hotel room in the 1700 block of Whitley Avenue on Monday about 1:30 p.m.

[Deleted at 5:48 p.m.]: A reference to a hotel on the block has been take out as it might have been the wrong one.
TMZ, which first reported Bodolai's death, stated that "cops recovered a bottle of antifreeze and Gatorade in the hotel room." He had been staying at the hotel for about a week, according to the site.
Dietz told us his death "is being investigated as a suicide at this point."
IMDB lists Bodolai as an SNL writer in 1981 and 82. He also was listed as a "supervising producer" on the sketch comedy show The Kids in the Hall in the early '90s.
On Dec. 23 Bodolai wrote a blog post titled, "IF THIS WERE Y0UR LAST DAY ALIVE WHAT WOULD YOU DO?"
In it he lists "My inability to conquer my alcoholism" among his life's regrets.
