Gay Community Asked to March in Martin Luther King Jr. Kingdom Day Parade

The gay and lesbian folks at Here to Stay Coalition and Jordan/Rustin Coalition are asking other gay and lesbian folks to join them for the Martin Luther King Jr. Kingdom Day Parade in Leimert Park in Los Angeles.

The parade, which honors Nobel Peace Prize winner and civil rights icon the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., takes place on Monday, January 17, at 11 a.m.

Both Here to Stay and Jordan/Rustin do important outreach work in the African American community, and the MLK parade is a great opportunity to do more of that.

There's also a sign making party on Saturday, January 15, between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Catch One Nightclub.

For more information, contact Andre at andre@jordanrustin.org or Here to Stay Coalition at heretostaycoalition@gmail.com.

We very rarely make these kind of announcements in this column, but this time we're making an exception.
