Fabian Nunez's Son Arrested in Slay Case
Former California Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez remains silent today about about the Tuesday afternoon arrest of Esteban Nunez, his 19-year-old son. According to a Sacramento Bee story, the younger Nunez was taken into custody at his father's Sacramento home, charged in the stabbing death of Luis Santos, described by other news sources as a 22-year-old Mesa College student.
Santos died after an October 4 party brawl that occurred near the San
Diego State University campus. Police allege that during the melee
Santos and four friends were confronted by Nunez and three other men,
all of whom are also now in custody.
All four suspects are due to be transported to San Diego County today, where they will be jailed prior to arraignment. See KXTV 10 video.
