The woman from the east San Gabriel Valley was last seen in the "late evening hours" of Oct. 23 in La Puente, sheriff's officials said in a statement:

We reached out to sheriff's detectives for details but were unable to get through.

Remains were found at two wastewater treatment plants Oct. 26 and 28 and then again at one of those plants on Oct. 31, authorities said.

The parts included a pelvis and legs discovered Oct. 26 at a Carson facility and an upper torso found at a county facility in Bassett Oct. 28.

On Oct. 31, an additional body part, possibly an arm, was discovered at the Los Angeles County Joint Water Pollution Control Plant (JWPCP) at 24501 S. Figueroa St. in Carson.

A sheriff's official said a body could have been dumped into a manhole in the San Gabriel Valley.

Detectives were treating it as a homicide.

Anyone with information was asked to call investigators at 323-890-5500.

[Added at 4:16 p.m.]: Sheriff's inmate records show that someone of the same name and age -- a woman who is 5 feet, 2 inches, 128 pounds -- was arrested by deputies out of the department's Industry station Oct. 1 at 12:30 a.m. for an alleged felony.

The next day a judge at L.A. Central Arraignment Court gave the woman in the records 45 days behind bars, but she was released from downtown jail Oct. 11, according to the data.

The info doesn't reveal what allegations were involved.
