Eric Garcetti Does 'Ask Me Anything' on Reddit Tonight

There are still a few weeks until Eric Garcetti takes office as the top dog in City Hall.
And still, he's an eager and brave man, willing to put his feet to the fire and face his toughest critics. Journalists? you ask. No. Union leaders? Nope. The abuelitas of the Eastside? No, señor. Garcetti will face ...
... the geeks of Reddit.
You heard that right. For the second time, Garcetti will participate in an AMA on the popular website. For those who don't know, that's "ask me anything."
D'ya hear? Anything!
A lot of people want to know if Garcetti is down-low gay, because apparently you can't be over 40, in shape, and good-looking without being accused of being a man-lover. (Just ask Tom Cruise.) Also, Garcetti is in the navy.
But the big question we'd like to see asked is whether G-man will make nice with the unions that backed his rival, Wendy Greuel. Many folks voted for Garcetti precisely because he appeared, at least on TV, to stand up to the DWP union, which hoped to see pay raises if Greuel won. So what happens now that he's been elected?
Also, will Garcetti really stay in the navy as a reservist? Isn't being mayor of a global metropolis like L.A., which is larger in population and land mass than many nations, kind of a big deal?
Will G-man live in Getty House like his predecessor, Antonio Villaraigosa?
Is he really, really for-real Mexican?
We have lots of questions, but the nerds over at Reddit are already ablaze with inquisitiveness. They're asking, for example, if we can have the fire rings back on city beaches.
Actually, guys, the county runs the beaches, and Dockweiler near LAX does have fire rings.
One commenter already wants to ask Garcetti to bring the raves back to the L.A. Coliseum. Even though, again, that's not technically under the jurisdiction of City Hall, that's something the next mayor actually might be able to help make happen.
And, remember, Garcetti is an EDM fan.
They want LAPD to get tough on car-versus-bike hit-and-runs, an issue spearheaded by us here at L.A. Weekly. Good question.
All the fun happens here at 7 p.m.
