DUI Crackdown Hits Koreatown
As we enter the drinking season—Halloween and then the holidays—police are hitting the streets in search of drunk drivers.
While we're sure your haunted mansion party will be off the chain, remember that there's nothing more scary than red and blue lights in your rear view mirror.
The Los Angeles Police Department thinks that warning you about its DUI operations, even telling you when and where they'll be on the lookout for drunk drivers, will dissuade you from getting behind the wheel after one too many drinks. Here's what cops are telling us about this weekend's crackdown:
-Tonight from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. an LAPD DUI checkpoint will be awaiting your arrival at Western Avenue and West Eighth Street in scenic Koreatown.

-Saturday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. extra police patrol cars and motorcycles will hit the streets of the LAPD's Southwest Division, which includes the USC-adjacent University Park, West Adams, Exposition Park and Jefferson Park. The department calls these operations "saturation patrols."
-Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. the LAPD will be back in the checkpoint business on Victory Boulevard at Bellaire Avenue in lovely North Hollywood.
-And last but not least, look out if you plan to host or attend a football party in the Valley Sunday.
