Duane Roberts, Green Party U.S. Senate Candidate Against Carly Fiorina And Barbara Boxer, Assails KPCC For Censoring Him From Debate
Green Party U.S. Senate Candidate Duane Roberts lashed out at public radio station
KPCC 89.3 FM this morning for barring Roberts from debating Carly Fiorina and Barbara Boxer -- yet another incident in which Los Angeles and California media systematically shunned the environmentally-oriented party.
Does it really kill us, in the media, to give the Green Party the five minutes in the program that Fiorina and Boxer are going to instead use, two exceedingly well-funded candidates who are weekly getting scads and scads of what is known in the business as "free media" already?
Every election cycle, the Green Party gets kept out of key political debates -- by journalists deciding it in private. The public has had no say in this in California.
Given the utter wreckage in the U.S. Congress, and in the California State Legislature, you would think that a public radio station, and mainstream media outlets who sponsor debates, would crack out of their censorship habits of old, and invite in the Greens.
