[Added at 12:58 p.m.]:

Police told reporters at the scene, as broadcast by KCAL9, that the shootings happened about 11:15 a.m., one at United States Fire Protection, a fire extinguisher company, and another at a home related to the business about a block or so away.

Several reports now say only two are dead. We'll check that.

Cops say the shooter got away in a 2010 black Camaro with California plate number 6LEA010. If you see it, call 911.

The Downey Patriot is reporting that the shooting might have been drug-related.

[Added at 1:08 p.m.]: Lt. Dean Milligan told reporters at the scene that two were confirmed dead.

[Updated at 3:12 p.m.]: Authorities now say that indeed three people are dead.

According to City News Service:

By mid-afternoon, police confirmed that two people died at the business -- one male and one female -- while another female victim was killed at the home.

Officials said the gunman first went into the business and opened fire, then went down the street to the home, which police said appeared to be a residence of either the business owner or relatives.

[Update at 4:58 p.m.]: Police told reporters at the scene that one of the victims was a 13-year-old boy who survived.
