A vicious pooch on the loose brought the fuzz to a Southern California neighborhood over the weekend.
When the pit bull-like canine known as an Argentine dogo lunged at an officer, the cop opened fire.
The dog was wounded, but he wasn't done:
He ran into a nearby backyard where ...
... police found weed. Lots of weed. Allegedly.
It all went down in Murrieta about 8:38 a.m. Friday in the 39600 block of Wild Flower Drive, according to Murrieta police.

The pooch was shot in the head before running into the backyard. After asking neighbors about the house, police realized there was a "narcotics complaint" at the location and sniffed around before apparently finding the weed.
Cops allege pot was being grown and sold there.
The home's 35 year-old owner, Jeanpaul Otomo, was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis for sale and possessing an assault rifle, according to Murrieta police.
The dog survived and was taken to a vet. He was not, apparently, prescribed medical marijuana.
