Conrad Murray was released from the L.A. County Sheriff's Inmate Reception Center downtown after he served two years of a four-year sentence for the involuntary manslaughter conviction he received following the death of Michael Jackson in 2009.
That according to reports from the scene as reporters camped out at Men's Central Jail downtown:
Murray served as Jackson's personal doctor. The pop star died on June, 25, 2009 at his home in Holmby Hills. A coroner's report listed the powerful painkiller Propofol as a factor in the King of Pop's death.
Murray was released shortly after midnight, according to several reports.

On Nov. 29, 2011 the judge in Murray's case gave the doctor the maximum sentence for involuntary manslaughter, four years, after saying that Murray "engaged in this money-for-medicine madness."
But the sheriff's department stated he would be released today as a result of good behavior.
[Added at 1 a.m.]: The jury in the civil trial that pitted Jackson's mother, Katherine, against the concert promoter AEG Live, ruled earlier this month that Murray was not an unfit doctor.
Katherine Jackson alleged that AEG Live hired Murray in order to keep the pop singer rehearsing and performing beyond his physical ability -- so the promoter could make billions from an upcoming series of London concerts and possible world tour.
The jury didn't see it that way.
[Added at 1:08 a.m.]: Sheriff's senior spokesman Steve Whitmore confirmed the release, stating:
Conrad Murray, 60, was safely released from Los Angeles County Jail On Monday, October 28, 2013, at 12:01 A.M. He served two years for involuntary manslaughter in the death of pop-star Michael Jackson.
