Brutal Venice Beating Captured on Video
Cops are looking for two suspects who brutally beat up a homeless man in Venice over the weekend.
The attack was captured on video (on the next page). A Los Angeles police lieutenant told us the victim's injuries were not life-threatening. But ...
... LAPD Pacific Division Capt. Brian Johnson told CBS Los Angeles that the victim suffered a broken arm. He was hospitalized after being treated for that and "lacerations," he said.
It happened about 4 a.m. on Friday the 13th on Horizon Avenue near Ocean Front Walk, which is essentially the boardwalk, the lieutenant told us.
He said, "We're on the case. Our detectives are investigating but there have been no arrests."
Johnson said the victim and the suspects might have known each other.
It the video, it appears the victim gets slammed with a bike, gets hit with sticks, and then gets his head bashed in multiple times while he's on the ground -- by a hoodie-wearing man who's wielding a folding chair.
Venice has had issues with homeless violence in recent years and this kind of thing isn't that unusual. But it was caught on tape.
The footage appears to have been captured by a second-floor neighbor who shot it from an apartment window.
