Bicyclist Hit Near Caltech, Dies

Another weekend, another dead bicyclist.
This one didn't appear to involve one of the many hit-and-run collisions that have plagued greater L.A: The driver stayed and was not cited:
It happened 6 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of East Del Mar Boulevard near Caltech, police said
The victim was described as a man in his 30s. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The accident shut down traffic in the area for "several hours," according to the Pasadena authorities.
