Bees Attack Man in Redondo Beach: 200+ Stings Put Him in The Hospital
A 95-year-old man spent the night in the hospital, and it was for the typical kind of "slip-and-fall" injuries old-timers are known for.
No. The poor senior was stung at least 200 times by bees, possibly Africanized honey bees, according to the Daily Breeze.
It all happened ...
... as the oldster was walking in the 1700 block of Ruxton Lane about 2:50 p.m. yesterday, said Redondo Beach police Sgt. Phil Keenan.

The lieutenant says:
They went into his ears, the palms of his hands, his arms, his face, his neck, everything that was exposed.

Eek. The bees appeared to have come from a nearby apartment building where an eradication effort failed: A fumigator had cut a hole in the attic in an attempt to push the insects out.
The senior was okay, though: He was only being held for observation.
In any case, avoid the 1700 block of Ruxton Lane in Redondo Beach. For now.
