Andrew Bynum, Lakers Center, Caught Parking in Two Handicap Spaces
NBC Los Angeles investigative reporter Joel Grover is at it again (is it sweeps?), and this time he bags a big one:
Lakers center Andrew Bynum. The reporter and his crew shot the baller with his car parked in two handicap spaces as he loaded up groceries at a Bristol Farms in Westchester (the station says Playa Del Rey).
A brave Grover asked Bynum about the ace parking job:
Bynum just slammed his BMW's door and drove off, says NBC.
According to the station:
It appears the 7-foot-tall Laker, who makes $14 million a year, was breaking the law if he was parking in those spots. Violators who are ticketed are subject to a $353 fine.
Under the California Vehicle Code, drivers must display a disabled placard or disabled license plate to park in spaces designated for the disabled.
Bynum has not been issued either by the California Department of Motor Vehicles, NBC4 confirmed.

Well, to be fair, Bynum has barely seen a season without spending some time off the court with injuries (check his Wiki entry). But yeah, you gotta get that placard. And he did look healthy at the end of last season -- and as he schlepped his groceries.
Isn't there a loading zone at Bristol Farms? And Mr. Grover, don't you know that certain people get an exemption to parking rules in this town? Just ask City Hall.
See Grover's report on NBC4 tonight at 5, 6 and 11.
