Protesters unhappy with the not-guilty verdict in the Trayvon Martin murder case blocked the 10 freeway near Crenshaw Boulevard in the Arlington Heights area early this evening.
The freeway was only shut down for 10 to 15 minutes, however, and no arrests were reported. The California Highway Patrol informed the public of the action, telling motorists to avoid the 10 near Crenshaw, about 7:01 p.m:

Crenshaw Boulevard has been the location of most of the local demonstrations against the verdict in Sanford, Florida, which saw shooter George Zimmerman, who's white and Latino, go free after shooting the unarmed, teenaged Martin in a confrontation.

But protesters were also focusing tonight on La Brea Boulevard near Hancock Park, where they were seen blocking intersections, including La Brea and Third Street.

Last night a demonstration and march on Crenshaw near Leimert Park saw police break out less-than-lethal weapons, including the firing of bean-bag rounds, after some in the crowd threw rocks and bottles.
KNX 1070 Newsradio reporter Claudio Peschiutta reported she was hit last night by an LAPD bean bag as she covered the demonstration. She seemed to be okay.

One arrest at the demonstration was reported.
For the second night the LAPD was on a citywide tactical alert, which means that officers can be put on high-priority calls only and held beyond their shifts.
[Update at 12:32 a.m. Monday]: Protesters on La Brea moved north into Hollywood and ended up blocking several intersections, including Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue, before moving east along Hollywood Boulevard
