What the Hell is Gloving?
In our music feature this week we explore "gloving," a new twist on the old practice of rave light shows, in which dudes (and a few ladies) wearing gloves with LED lights in them perform dazzling tricks that look cool in the dark. (Particularly when you're on drugs.) One of the scene's biggest proponents, Brian Lim, who runs a gloving outfitter called Emazing Lights, likens it to "the early days of breakdancing," as writer Andy Hermann notes in his feature.
But don't take our word for it; in our exclusive video, one of the scene's biggest stars -- and, yes, this scene does have bona fide celebrities -- Munch offers a gloving guide for beginners. It was filmed by Nanette Gonzales, and you can see it below.
