Watch: Meanest Man Contest, "Partially Smart" [MP3]
Mean men, no contest.
Thanks to brilliant cultural institutions like Garfield, Cathy, and Dilbert, we all know just how badly Mondays suck. Insert picture of a crying baby wearing a business suit here. Luckily, there are blogs, the smile-inducing time-gobbing yin to your dreary workaday yang. Below you'll find the feelgood music video of the week (if not month) -- an easy-to-love bout of lyrical gymnastics and blippy boom-bap beatsmithery by the L.A./S.F. rap duo Meanest Man Contest.
MMC emcee Ericsolo, a.k.a. Eric Steuer, is the former music editor of Wired and a key player in Creative Commons. Producer Quarterbar, or Noah Blumberg is also the guitarist of long-running Bay Area indie rock band The Jim Yoshii Pile-Up (which coincidentally happens to be named after the brother of one of this reporter's high school buddies).
The video for "Partially Smart" features characters from the web series, TXT M3 B1TCH, and was shot in Los Angeles. And here it is (after the jump).
Download an MP3 of "Partially Smart" here, at the end of the first review.
