Tonight: Brandon Flowers, A Perfect Circle, Lila Downs, All Time Low, Candy Claws, Nobunny
His late-summer round of warm-up shows having done nothing but stoke the fires of adulation in fans' hearts, Brandon Flowers is now taking on bigger rooms in a U.S. tour that begins this week.
The Killers frontman has received a warm embraced for his solo debut Flamingo, which came out in September -- and with the songs sharing so much DNA with the material he makes during his day job, it's no surprise.
Flowers has said some of the material on Flamingo was written for the Killers before the band decided to go on hiatus -- a break the singer recently characterized as "still indefinite." But with its fleeting country and gospel flourishes and distinct theme (it's pretty much an homage to Las Vegas), the 29-year-old's solo outing has character enough to stand out on its own.
Flowers' tour brings him to the Wiltern tonight, along with another rock frontman going it solo, Fran Healy of Travis.
