The craptastic rock and roll hall of fame inductees were just announced.

Here's who was nominated:

The Paul Butterfield Blues Band

Chic

Deep Purple

Heart

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

Albert King

Kraftwerk

The Marvelettes

The Meters

Randy Newman

N.W.A

Procol Harum

Public Enemy

Rush

Donna Summer

Here's who got in:

Heart

Albert King

Randy Newman

Public Enemy

Rush

Donna Summer

Also, Lou Adler and Quincy Jones as "non-performers."

Nothing against those folks, but where's Kraftwerk? Where's fucking N.W.A?

I guess pretty much inventing electronic music and laying the groundwork for hip-hop and inventing gangsta rap and changing the political and social discourse in this country aren't very important.

Public Enemy's cool, of course, but to say their impact was greater than N.W.A's is on some east coast left-wing bias shit.

As for Rush, we do have to admit that Neil Peart does have a ginormous drumkit.
