Postal Service Producer's 'Paparazzi' Remix Turns Lady Gaga into a Chillwave Laurie Anderson
Lady Gaga meets Dntel in his chillwavey, beat-loving "Paparazzi" remix.
Whoa. Via a new video, the beatsmith behind the Postal Service drops an unauthorized remix of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" that reimagines the pop star as a Laurie Anderson type.
[We apologize for doubling up on Dntel news, but this was was too chill(wavey) to pass up.]
James Tamborello (also known as Dntel or James Figurine) records this one under his government name, and we're not surprised considering it's an ebullient and masterful work of beat experimentalism and ambient textures.
Which is to say, it sounds nothing like the original (though we'd argue Gaga owes a bit to Miss Anderson). All the more reason to let it into your life. That, and the handsome golden retriever featured in the home movie-style clip.
