When Saturday Night Live’s Bill Hader created intrepid nightlife reporter Stefon, he probably attended one of legendary party diva Susanne Bartsch’s flamboyant Big Apple fetes for inspiration.
If you follow our L.A. party coverage, you know that, when it comes to some clubs, we can’t make this stuff up: the beautifully bizarre entertainment, the glamazon get-ups and just the uber-fabulousness of the city after dark, especially at artier events mixing gay and straight. In New York it’s the same, at least at Bartsch’s bashes. So a West Coast visit was overdue.
Bartsch and Dreamhouse present a “Hollywood Edition” of her popular shindig known as Kunst! Expect raging at its finest and fiercest. Performances by La’Fem Ladosha, Ab Soto, Theswimmingpools and Actually, plus dance happy sounds by DJs Object Permanence and Josh Peace (Mustache Mondays), and a crazy collection of co-host hotness from both coasts: Gage of the Boone, One Half Nelson, Erickatoure Aviance, James St. James, Phyllis Navidad, Semi Precious Weapons’ Justin Tranter and many more. We seriously don’t think Stefon could handle this one. But we can.
