Live in L.A. This Weekend: Angels & Airwaves, Miike Snow, Enrique Bunbury, Flight of the Conchords, Nas & Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley

Say what you will about Angels & Airwaves' radio rock (outer-space emo is the phrase that comes to mind), but Tom DeLonge has a plan. Working around the cash register jingle of inevitable Blink-182 reunions, he's made three increasingly ambitious albums with his new project, including Love, which was released for free on Valentine's Day and downloaded more than half a million times in a matter of days. From a band that the year before had paid dues on the Warped Tour, that earned a lot of goodwill -- which fans have returned on AVA's two-month tour, where, presumably, DeLonge and company are selling things besides tickets. The tour's penultimate stop is Saturday at the Palladium, with L.A.'s most challenging emo outfit Say Anything opening, and then for DeLonge it's off to his next project. Which, since you asked, is Love, the science fiction movie -- which the frontman has described as an "art-house film" about a guy stranded on a space station while Earth crumbles below him. Last word is that the flick should be done this summer.
