LinA In LA: Dance Club, DJ and Party Picks For This Weekend & Beyond
Camerata's got a lotta. See Sunday.
The traffic sucks and yes, you will encounter clubster schmucks, but block for block there is nowhere better than Hollywood to get your groove on--and your ya-yas out--club-wise. DTLA comes a close second, especially in the summertime. This week we spotlight some Walk of Fame-adjacent events (and a couple outdoor parties Downtown) and we can almost guarantee three things about this week's very hip haps: grindingly diverse dance sounds from skilled DJs, inventive live music elements, and no goons in Ed Hardy (well, hopefully not ... it is Hollywood, after all).
Friday, June 24
Teddy's Fridays has long-been a go-to for the effortlessly fashionable nightcrawler set, random celebrities and rockers gone wild thanks to the hot selections of DJ Myles Hendrik, Will Crimes and Pika, and every now and again the shindig really shakes with live acts as well. This Friday will be such an eve as Haim (recent openers for Ke$ha, but don't let that deter you) offer one of their soulful sets. Get ready to "get on your feet and step to the beat" as they say. At the Roosevelt Hotel (Teddy's), 7000 Hollywood Blvd., Hlywd. Facebook invite

No Shirt/No Shoes offers a special DJ set from The Black Lips along with Superhumanoids, Sir Daniel Parra and Guns in the Sun. The tiny dance floor in the sky at the Standard downtown can pretty freaky when Dub Frequency takes over. With the Lips involved, we expect shirts and shoes won't be the only items stripped off. 1-7 p.m. 550 S. Flower st. www.thedfm.com
BoJesse Christopher is one of the busiest promoters in Hollywood and his newish night at Premiere (formerly Central) has been packing 'em in Saturday nights. DJ IMG spins dance hits and bangers and BJC is promising "surprise celeb guest performances" each week (Mickey Avalon popped by recently). 1710 N. Las Palmas Ave. Hlywd. www.premieresupperclub.com
Sunday, June 26
A fusion of art, DJs and live music, Camerata has been one of Sunday night's mad-fun parties for years, first at Cinespace then at Bardot. Starting this Sunday, they introduce a new home, the writerly environs of Hemingway's. Symphonic Circles (formerly/also known as The Devil's Orchestra) started the party--along with Keith Wilson of Club Moscow fame--and their live shows were always a big part of the rapturous and often rowdy proceedings. For the re-opening, the Circles plan to play material new and old. Also on stage, Chicago blues boy Trevor Menear, and on the floor, dancing galore courtesy of Wilson aka "Keith 2.0" and guest DJ Lindsay Luv. 6356 Hollywood Blvd. Facebook invite
Sunday shenanigans don't get any wetter or wider than those at Summertramp. Yes, the parking lot party is back this month, and if the last one was any indication, sunscreen isn't the only protection you might want to bring. This poly-sexy soiree will be taken over by Cub Scout this times, so expect some of the best beat-smiths on the gay and semi-straight scene: Victor Rodriguez, Josh peace, Chris Bowen, Daisy O' Dell, Aaron Colbert, and Valida. At Tony's Saloon, 2017 E. 7th St, dwntwn. www.summertramp.com
Tuesday, June 28
BoJesse C's got another humdinger, Ultra Rad Tuesdays, also at Hemingways (clubs and promoters can be so incestuous!) featuring cover bands, regular bands, DJ (Casper Von DJ) and hot co-hosts (Devon Culiner, Ivy Levan). 6356 Hollywood Blvd. Follow @BJCevents on Twitter for scoop on this and his other parties.
