As the largest art museum in the western United States, this Mid-City behemoth features ongoing exhibits from around the world, regular concert series, film series and lectures. Founded in 1910 as part of the Los Angeles Museum of History, Science and Art, it broke off to become LACMA in 1961. The museum now boasts 100,000 objects in its permanent collection.
