Tucked away in a secluded canyon in the Los Feliz-area park beckons the old Griffith Park Zoo, a quiet haven of peace and high-quality strangeness. The zoo was built in 1912, and closed down in 1966 when the L.A. Zoo opened its doors. Still, the area is conducive to picnics, reading, yoga or meditation, with the sounds of birds and a small stream trickling nearby.
