Eagle Rock’s original coffee bar, Swork, is a kid-, pet-, and computer-friendly spot for coffee, tea, breakfast and lunch. Right at the corner of Colorado and Eagle Rock boulevards, the recently remodeled neighborhood spot has a great selection of teas and wellness blends in addition to java. The Rise & Shine is a combo of hemp milk, banana, kale, greens boost, lemon, chia, flax and agave. The Immunity Boost is a mix of fresh-squeezed orange juice, pineapple, immune boost, lemon, fresh ginger, turmeric and bee pollen. Swork may be a coffee bar, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a more varied collection of hot teas. The Fleur de Geisha is green tea sprinkled with cherry blossoms, wonderfully aromatic. The Tropical Garden is a sweet mix of mango, papaya and peach and the Du Hammon blends green tea, rose, dates, berries and orange flower. For noshing, there are house-baked muffins, croissants, house-made granola and blueberry oatmeal, as well as a selection of bagel sandwiches; try the vegetarian farmhouse bagel, toasted with cream cheese, baby greens, red onions, tomato, cucumber, radish and mint-parsley-infused vinaigrette. If you bring your pooch, there are free doggie treats and water bowls, and for kids there’s a dedicated space with books, magnet board, mini chairs and table. —Michele Stueven
