Los Cocos Panaderia y Pupuseria is in a corner mini-mall in that strange part of town that isn’t quite Culver City and definitely isn’t West L.A. You may have to drive past three or times before you will even notice it’s there. Once you do, you can saunter in to the small space and take a gander at the large assortment of classic Salvadoran and Mexican baked goods and breads piled up inside the glass cases. Everything is made to order. We recommend the semita de pina (pineapple cake) and quesadilla de arroz (a sweet cake made with rice flour) and donuts. Along the wall there is also a full menu and some additional hand-written entries of pupusas and outstanding tamale choices. The pupusas come in at least 16 varieties, including the standards of bean, cheese and pork, as well as several vegetarian and vegan choices. Order to dine in or take out.
