Jar is an aptly named place. Both clean-line decorative and Rat Pack retro, Suzanne Tracht's Beverly Boulevard "chophouse" has white tablecloths, a maître d' in a suit, some of the best steaks in town and a martini that would have kept Dean Martin propped handsomely in a corner for days. Add a jazz playlist, a menu that features not only old-school glories like iceberg wedges, filets of beef with lobster bearnaise sauce (in a white ceramic boat!) and stellar chocolate pudding but also sudden happy detours into Asian cuisine (courtesy of Tracht's longtime chef de cuisine, Preech Narkthong), and you might want to find your own permanent seat at the bar, too.
