Jockeying for position among all the other casual-but-quality restaurants in the Mid-City area, House Café has made a name for itself with its standout breakfast kahvalti. The dish has small portions of French-style jam, Bulgarian feta, Greek yogurt, Turkish simit bread (a sesame-seeded toroid), tomatoes with Italian basil, Spanish olives, a softly poached egg and undressed arugula presented with a small carafe of lightly sweet Turkish tea. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner – with breakfast served until 5:00 p.m. – this airy café also offers standard brunch fare, burgers and sandwiches and a wide variety of soups and salads.
