Horse Thief BBQ in downtown's Grand Central Market serves Texas-style barbecue and specializes in dry-rub beef brisket. Billed as "old-school Texas meats with new-school sides," the eatery co-owned by native Texans Russell Malixi and Wade McElroy is located in the picnic table-filled outdoor space at the bottom of Angel's Flight. The menu includes organic heirloom beans; a German-style potato salad that's vinegar-based with bacon; coleslaw with jicama; and white cheddar mac 'n' cheese.
