Freak City

6363 Hollywood Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90028
Even by loose Hollywood standards, Freak City is weird. Half retail store, half ultra-late night/very early morning rage space, Freak City is a mash up of dirty dance tracks, fake gold bling and neon-print onesies. The storefront sells the sort of chopped-and-screwed '90s fashions that were never mainstream enough initially to come back into style now. But around back, under the soft alley glow of a red neon sign, is the all-night party zone of the same name, with lounge-worthy couches and a decently priced full bar. The walls are still splattered with all manner of freakish decoratives and pieces of chain link fence, but the music is always danceable, there's hardly ever a line, and the people watching is out of this world.
