Everyone is cordially invited to the oldest religious procession in Los Angeles, where thousands of Catholic faithful gather to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of Mercy. The procession and Mass will take place on Sunday, December 6, starting at 11 a.m., at the corner of Cesar Chavez Ave. and Ford Blvd. in East Los Angeles. Thousands of Catholic faithful from diverse ethnic communities will gather to honor the Virgin of Guadalupe. Following the procession, Archbishop José H. Gomez, the Auxiliary Bishops of the Archdiocese and participating clergy will celebrate Mass at East Los Angeles College Stadium.
Floats, decorated by Parish groups from different ethnic communities within the Archdiocese, and indigenous dancers, will escort the “Virgin Peregrina” image at the Procession on Dec. 6. The Mass following the procession will feature mariachis, bandas, folkloric dances, hymns and poems typical of celebrations in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
