The Canter's Deli truck is the brainchild of Bonnie Bloomgarden, a great-great-granddaughter of Ben Canter, one of the brothers who opened the first L.A. incarnation of Canter's Deli in Boyle Heights in 1931. The truck, which stops everywhere from downtown L.A. to Playa Vista to Los Feliz, serves nine sandwiches (pastrami, corned beef, turkey, egg salad, tuna salad, grilled cheese, lox and bagel, bagel and cream cheese, and a Reuben), a few sides (cole slaw, chips, pickles, and potato salad), green salad and matzoh ball soup. Also on the menu: Dr. Brown's sodas and desserts such as rugelach, mini-Danishes, abd black-and-white cookies.
