Los Angeles’ indie artist Quincy Coleman’s buzz is expanding beyond Southern California and into the national and international spotlight. Qunicy’s track "Give It Away" from her debut release, Also Known As Mary, is prominently featured in the hit film, Waitress and the track "Afraid" is featured on the soundtrack for the academy award winning film Crash. While Paste magazine describes her sophomore recording, Come Closer, as “Asyln meets Tom Waits,” online publication, Editorial Emergency states that “Coleman’s feel for the swoony tropes of yesteryear at times recalls Maria Muldaur and Van Dyke Parks, though her voice is closer to the knowing, rootsy timbre of Shelby Lynne.”
