Even though Southern California is one of the most-visited regions in the world, L.A. remains one of the most hated cities in America.

We think we finally figured out why. Zillow today released the results of a survey that basically asked folks from coast to coast which famous people they'd least like to have as neighbors.

Celebrity brats in greater Los Angeles dominated the list, of course:

Your "Worst Neighbors" for 2013 are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West of Bel Air.

Yes, the Kardashian juggernaut has jumped the shark, and the haterade is now flowing. Some have speculated that it's West -- with his photographer-bashing, self-aggrandizing ways -- who sunk that ship.

Second on the list: The cast of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo." Not Angelenos, apparently.

But jump to number three and you're back to Calabasas: Justin Bieber, the smallest, skinniest, whitest Canadian gangster ever, takes that spot.

Number four? Miley Cyrus, who's said to live in Toluca Lake. She's also quite gangster. Her and Biebs could make some hardcore rapping/twerking children if they ever mated.

Real estate site Zillow surveyed 1,023 Americans to find out which celebrities they'd rather not share zip codes with.

About one-third of respondents said they wouldn't want to live around any celebrity, no matter how cool they might be.

Zillow chief marketing officer Amy Bohutinsky:

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West ... have a reputation for living an over-the-top lifestyle, with drama and the paparazzi never too far behind. No one wants to live next door to a family who has cameras following them everywhere and seems to seek out as much attention as possible.

Jimmy Fallon, who's taking our Tonight Show back east in 2014, topped the list of celebrities Americans would call the "Most Desirable Celebrity Neighbor," according to the survey.

Here are the results:
