A Beverly Hills-adjacent compound that once belonged to Dawn Steel, who is considered the first female studio head in Hollywood, could be yours for just $34.5 million.

Sounds like a lot, but it was once listed for $55 mil. And it's zoned as an "equestrian estate," a rare property in the hills above Beverly that allows horses, according its listing agent, Aaroe Estates. It has more than 10 acres of property, a view to die for, and a "Monterrey Colonial" main house with ...

... six bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Oh, and there's a two-bed, two-bath guest house for relatives and other couch-surfing slummers and a two-bed, one-bath "staff house."

Yeah.

There's a pool area, vegetable garden, walking trails and private patios throughout the property, Aaroe Estates says in a statement.

Steel broke through the glass ceiling when she became chief at Columbia Pictures in 1987. At Paramount Pictures she helped to develop Flashdance, Footloose, Top Gun, The Untouchables, and Fatal Attraction.

Wow. Do all that and you get an estate like this, apparently.

After she was diagnosed with a brain tumor the previous year, she died in 1997 at the age of 51.

Aaron Kirman, president of Aaroe Estates:

This estate offers unparalleled views, along with the charm of an original Beverly Hills home. It also comes with some amazing Hollywood history in a peaceful hilltop setting--it's one of the few remaining large sites in the exclusive 90210 area. It's ideal for a family seeking a classic Southern California experience, or for a developer interested in a prestigious location with spacious grounds, exceptional views, and privacy to build the ultimate estate compound.

The place is actually outside Beverly Hills city limits, in the city of L.A., in what some call "BHPO" for Beverly Hills Post Office, or zip code 90210.

In many ways it's a nicer area than the gilded city to the south, but Beverly Hills cops won't respond to your 911 calls even if you fork over full asking price for this place.
