Kara Kiehle, 33, was booked on suspicion of "hit-and-run fatal," cops said. Sheriff's inmate data shows she was booked Friday evening in lieu of $50,000 bail. The District Attorney's office tells us that she has not been charged:
However, sheriff's data points to a Oct. 18 date in the case.
Kiehle was nabbed Friday at her home in the 500 block of Rialto Court, a few blocks from the alleged hit-and-run, according to the LAPD. The tip that went through the LAPD's website pointed cops in that direction, the department said.
Traffic Detective Det. B. Johnson told the Weekly the tipster gave police a vehicle license plate and a location:
The vehicle was there when the officers responded. It had damage consistent with this collision. While the officers were there she walked outside to the vehicle.
The collision happened about midnight Friday at Venice and Lincoln boulevards, police said. The victim, a 33-year-old man, was crossing Venice when a westbound car hit him, cops said.
The man was declared dead at the scene.
The vehicle, a darker car, possibly a Toyota, kept on going, police alleged.
