We've seen some fairly grizzly beat-downs by bouncers who think they have the law on their side. Let this be a lesson to them that they can't just go around bashing-in customers' heads, literally.

A jury in Torrance this week awarded $58 million to Antonio Lopez Chaj, who had his head beat in so severely by a security guard at a Koreatown bar in 2010 that it left a permanent dent:

The 2010 attack at the now-closed Barra Latina happened after Lopez intervened when a manager and a security guard went after his relatives.

The civil case alleged that an untrained, unlicensed security guard beat him with a baton, kicked him and smashed his head into a sidewalk.

That guard, Emerson Quintanilla, and the manager who allegedly started it, have disappeared, according to Associated Press.

That didn't stop the jury from ruling against the security company that employed Quintanilla, ordering that it must pay one of the largest rewards ever in such a case.
