This is kind of scary.

The L.A. Sheriff's Department this week says a car set up to look just like an official police cruiser was stolen from a cop equipment store in Norwalk. This following a report in winter that a gang allegedly planned to steal cop cars and build a replica:

The 2004 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (just like the model pictured) was taken from Goodies Uniforms on Sunday about 2 a.m., deputies said last night.

The business, at 12158 Firestone Blvd., counts L.A. County Sheriff's deputies, Los Angeles police, and CHP officers among its customers.

The location happens to be near L.A.'s South County Superior Court.

The black-and-white vehicle, apparently used to promote the business, has an orange, security patrol-style light bar on top, spot lights on the driver's and passenger's side, and Goodies' branding on the doors, deputies said.

The car has a rear plate number of 6RKL501 and front plate number of E00909 as well as a large "069" on the roof, according to the sheriff's department.

The theft come after Fox 11 News in February looked at court documents that indicated a local gang allegedly planned to steal police cars and build its own replica.

It's not clear if this case is related.
